A Change of Seasons

All of us are preparing for a change of seasons. Here in the Northern Equatorial regions, we are readying ourselves for the brilliant colors and cooler temperatures of fall. In the Southern Hemisphere, your world is getting ready to burst forth with the new life that spring promises. Wherever your geography places you, we all look to the foundation being laid for our devotion to the Inner Season of the Soul.

Let us take time on this day to reflect on the moment, and all that is happening around the world. We see nations struggling, natural disasters threatening hundreds of thousands around the world and increased political unrest in these turbulent times. There is no easy answer to these problems, however, there is one thing we can all commit ourselves to: the Path of Peace. We do that by developing the presence of peace within ourselves and in our own lives.

The world will collectively focus on Peace tomorrow as we celebrate International World Peace Day on September 21st. If any of you are attending an event in conjunction, please take a moment to download the color flyer on our website for the 2011 Feast and help us spread the world about this opportunity for sacred practice. Our goal is to assist people with the process of meditative practice by providing guidance and direction for building a regular spiritual discipline in a way that moves beyond labels and limitations. We want to help build relationships and offer support to groups and communities by providing a venue for our coming together. The online meditations we have offered are available throughout the year, tools that can assist you at any time you choose to enter into retreat.

We heard from many of you that our most recent Feast during the week of the Solstice was a moving experience, and we now move forward and begin planning for the 2011 Winter Feast for the Soul (it will be a Summer Feast for participants in the Southern Hemisphere) which will take place January 15 - February 23rd. We'll be updating our website in the coming weeks, and calling for volunteers who have a desire to get more involved.

The Feast continues to grow and evolve, and it is YOU who are making the difference through your commitment and dedication. Winter Feast Receives Endorsement from His Holiness the Dalai Lama

         We received word just yesterday from the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharmasala, HP, India which brought us great joy. "We are happy to convey to you His Holiness the Dalai Lama's prayers and good wishes for your Annual Winter Feast. Best Wishes."

         When you join us for the forty-day observance of the Feast, you truly are contributing to a larger project for peace on a global scale with ripples that travel far beyond what we can know.

Spiritual Pen Pal Requests Keep Growing

         What began as a small project in April to provide prisoners with support for their spiritual practice continues to grow and evolve. We have (2) pending requests for pen pals, and we need to match them with caring, non-judgmental individuals who wish to make a difference in someone's life. Plan An Event For Your Community

         Many people have expressed an interest in organizing an en event during Winter Feast for the Soul in their community. We will help you and support you, and provide a framework in which to work. Please send us an e-mail, and we'll put you on the list for the Community Call we'll be holding in October. Very soon we'll have press release and sample articles you can use to spread the word in your community. All that is required is your inspiration!

Translators Wanted

         We are indebted to those of you who have painstakingly translated newsletters, and quotes and Feast information for us in the past. How could we have done it without you? Simply, we could not. And we hope you will again help us this year! We want to expand the languages and countries we can reach out to, and hope you will let us know of your interest in translating for us in 2011.

         We are hoping that those of you who chose to be Abundant Angels for us in 2010 saw our notes of thanks in the newsletters that came out......you took a few moments to contribute to the Winter Feast or the Summer Feast, and made everything that we accomplished possible through your generosity.
